Public Water Supply District No. 2 of Jackson County, Missouri (PWSD #2) is aware of the notice from Kansas City Water and at the present time PWSD #2 is only taking water from the Independence Water Company, which gets its water from a subsurface aquifer and is not affected by the rising levels of the Missouri River. At this time the water from Kansas City is good to drink, however, out of an abundance of caution, the District has shut down the valves from Kansas City. We will continue to monitor the situation.

Jackson County Public Water Supply District No. 2

Jackson County Public Water Supply District 2

Public Water Supply district No. 2 of Jackson County distributes water to the southewrn portion of Raytown, Missouri. As such, we purchase all of the water we distribute from the cities of Kansas City and Independence, Missouri. We experienced cost increases from Kansas City the last two years without raising the rates and were told more increases will be expected in the future. Regrettably as a result of these increased costs from our wholesaler, Public Water Supply No. 2's Board of Directors will effect an increase in all of the Districts water rates by 3%. Starting on May 1, 2018 the base rate will increase .58 cents for monthly billing and $1.15 for bi-monthly billing. These base rates include 2,000 and 4,000 gallons of water respectively. Each additional 1,000 gallons of water will increase .24 cents.
